A native of Japan, Michiko Fujii Fowler has lived and painted in San Francisco, California since 2008. Her work is in the permanent collections of the Polk Museum of Art (Florida, USA) and the Saku Museum of Modern Art (Nagano, Japan). In the latter, her Painting on a Wall, Painting on a Wall appeared in the museum's 30th Anniversary Collection Masterpieces show along with the work of world-renowned contemporary art masters. She was an artist-in-residence at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris in 2007 and received the Sokei and the Takazawa Awards from the Sokei Academy of Fine Art & Design in Tokyo.
